“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” –Acts 1:8
We believe that God has called us to live out the gospel by making disciples in every area of our lives—Judea (our community), Samaria (our local region), and the world. Our goal is to stir the hearts of our church outwards through many different missions partnerships and opportunities, and we commit 40-50% of our yearly budget to missions.
We partner with Vapor Sports, a ministry which establishes self-sustaining centers for humanitarian aid and disciple-making in third world environments. We’re currently focused on Haiti, helping Vapor build new centers there and sending our members on several mission trips each year to see, learn, and help in what God is doing there. Last year Vapor finished its first center in the region at Dilaire, and this year work is in progress on a second center in Ouanaminthe. We also support missionaries on the ground in Thailand, Japan, and around the world.
Regionally, we support several missionaries in the United States and Kentucky region. We also partner with Campus Outreach Lexington to reach the campuses of Centre College, Georgetown College, Eastern Kentucky University, and University of Kentucky. Each year many of our families volunteer at CO’s Summer Project, a 9-week training program where students work a job, live together, and grow in their faith through daily time in the Word and themed teaching sessions.
In our local area we support many organizations such as the Salvation Army, and Haven care Center. Our deacons also coordinate programs to help those in need within our community, including work placement and utility assistance.
